Welcome to The Southwest Virginia Chapter (SWVC) website. On our HOME page you will find information about the chapter, a message from our chapter President and tabs to chapter activities and joining the chapter. As you look through our site you will be able see what we are about in our Mission and Visionstatement in the ABOUT tab. There you also will find information on our current leadership, chapter activities including monthly membership meetings, legislation, community service, and awards. You will also find copies of past editions of our chapter newsletter The Communiqué as well as copies of the Board of Directors meeting minutes. Information in these documents record what the chapter is doing and how you may become involved. Under the LEGISLATION tab you will find MOAAs Legislative Mission for 2025. The Southwest Virginia Chapter, an affiliate of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), charted as an autonomous and self-supporting, nonpartisan, non-profit veteran’s organization located in Roanoke, Virginia. The SWVC and its satellite represent more than 191 officers made up of currently serving, former, and retired officers and their survivors representing all seven uniformed services in all officer grades dedicated to maintaining a strong national defense and ensuring our nation keeps its commitments. Chapter members are able to speak about local issues and influence local and state governments. Chapter membership offers opportunities for lasting friendships, camaraderie and networking with other officers who share common concerns and aspirations. Chapter members also volunteer throughout the area supporting numerous causes and local initiatives.
